Town Hall in Orunia
The building, designed in the neo-Gothic style and made of red brick, is distinguished by its characteristic pinnacles and turrets atop the facade. Above the first-floor windows are bas-reliefs depicting Greek goddesses: Themis, the personification of justice, holding a sword and scales, and Demeter, the embodiment of abundance, holding a sickle and a book. The facade is adorned with Art Nouveau ornaments, including vine leaves, chestnut leaves, and clusters of grapes decorating the arches above the ground-floor windows. Beneath three of these windows, decorative elements in the Art Deco style are also present. Originally, the building served as the seat of the local Orunia municipal office. From 1922 to at least 1931, the head of the office (Amtshaus) was Max Ramminger, who later became a senator of the Free City of Gdańsk. From around 1926, a police station was also housed here.
