The sculpture of Fryderyk Chopin's head was created by Professor Stanisław Horno-Popławski, a renowned sculptor residing in Sopot, Poland. This is the professor's final work, as his last wish was to gift the sculpture to the city. The plaster bust was crafted by Professor's student, Albert Zalewski. Chopin likely spent his summer vacation in Sopot in 1827, invited by Kajetan Sierakowski's son. The monument was unveiled on July 14, 1998.
