Herbst Villa
The residence of the industrial Herbst family. More well-known in Łódź, where they managed a large business. In the area of the former family estate, in Księży Młyn, there is a museum called the "Herbst Palace."
At the end of the 19th century, the Herbst family began to spend their summers in the fashionable resort of Zoppot. The trips and the resort became so beloved to the family that in 1891, the family patriarch, Edward, purchased a villa along with the adjoining park, which had previously belonged to the merchant Johannes Ick.
During their time in Sopot, the family became involved in the local community and left their mark on the city's history. They were great patrons of the arts, philanthropists, and sponsors of various initiatives within the city of Sopot.
