Barracks Wijbe in Gdansk

The monumental building of the former Prussian barracks, built in the nineteenth century, called the barracks Wijbego. So named because of the located here in the seventeenth century bastion built by the Dutch engineer Adam Wijbe. Interestingly, the brilliant designer used to raising a bastion of the cable car, called by him "Jacob's ladder" which transported the land of Bishop Hill. The whole thing was driven by horses walking in winches, was the first cable car operating on Polish soil.
