A villa reminiscent of the Romantic style from the early 19th century

The villas in Sopot, with their decor reminiscent of Romanticism, constitute a particularly picturesque and diverse element of local architecture. Typically, these are single-story buildings, where the lower floors are made of brick, and the upper floors of timber frame construction, covered with ceramic roofs. They are characterized by the presence of verandas, bay windows, balconies, and ornamental turrets. An example of such a building is a multi-family villa erected in 1905. Its single-story core, shaped like a rectangle with several projections, was built of brick, while the upper floor, covered with ceramic roofs, is made of timber frame construction. Decorative and functional elements include timber frame extensions containing a porch and verandas, a wooden balcony on the upper floor, and a hexagonal bay window in the southeast corner, covered with a metal roof in the form of a pyramid. Probably, in addition to its original residential function, the villa once served as a guesthouse.
