In the field of Sopot Hippodrome is engraved with a boulder, stylized Gothic inscription in German, which translates to: You broke the heart of Gustav v. Puttkamer rider. The stone was erected to commemorate the death of Gustav II Puttkamer Hussar Regiment stationed in Gdansk Wrzeszcz, who tragically died falling from his horse while racing in Sopot.
